Where does Natural Stone come from?

Marble and Granite quarries are mined all over the world. Most Marble that you find is from Italy, Greece, and Brazil. While Granite is all over the world, Africa, Canada, USA, Noraway, Brazil to name a few. Travertine mainly comes from Turkey, Greece, Peru and Mexico. Slate, Quartz, Soapstone, Fossil Stone, Sandstone, and so on; are all over the world, maybe the moon?

These are beautiful photos. I was lucky enough to visit the quarries in Carrera Italy a few years back - they are like natural underground cathedrals. Italian marble is so dense and silky and just utterly gorgeous!
